Phillipsburg Rodeo Association Scholarships


Four area college students received scholarships from the Phillipsburg Rodeo Association.
Dylan Van Laeys, Logan, Kan., is a student at Ft. Hays (Kan.) State University. He will graduate in May 2026 with a degree in Agronomy and a certificate in Ag Business. He competes collegiately in the team roping and steer wrestling. He is the son of Tim and Robin Van Laeys.
Lexi Wooten, Rose Hill, Kan., is the second Ft. Hays State University student receiving a Phillipsburg Rodeo scholarship. A sophomore, she is working towards a Diagnostic Imaging degree with an emphasis in Ultrasound. She is a barrel racer and the daughter of Heather Wooten.
Clay Meyer is a 2025 Mid-Plains Community College graduate. The Bertrand, Neb. man graduated with a degree in Agricultural Welding. While in college, he competed in the team roping and steer wrestling. He is the son of Allan and Dana Meyer.
Erin Osmotherly, Hot Springs, S.D., just completed her first year of schooling at Mid-Plains Community College. She is working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education and competes in the barrel racing and breakaway roping. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Anita Osmotherly.
